How the conversion works
Weight units convert to ounces, liquid-volume units to fluid ounces, and count stays separate. The tool refuses to rank unlike families—for example, ounces against fluid ounces—because density varies by product.
Compare usable quantity, not just package size
A larger package is not a bargain if food expires or is discarded. For meat with bones, concentrated cleaners or products requiring dilution, enter the usable or prepared quantity when that better matches what you consume.
Coupons, tax and membership costs
Enter the net price after a coupon only when you qualify. Include mandatory bottle deposits or delivery markups if they differ, and remember that a warehouse membership cost should not be assigned to one item unless that purchase is the reason for joining.
Tip: shelf labels may use price per 100 units rather than per one unit. This calculator normalizes to one base unit and shows the percentage savings.
